Sam Maaka

Sam, 24, is originally from the North Island and has been involved in the horticulture industry from a young age. She began working seasonally at Fortune Fruit in Cromwell at the age of 12, progressing through various roles from the packhouse to spray operations. In April 2025, Sam travelled overseas before joining Central Orchard Management in September 2025 as a Machine and Spray Operator. She holds a Phytosanitary Certificate, Growsafe certification, a Certificate in Fruit Production, First Aid certification, and Wilderness First Responder certification. Sam is a dedicated worker with a strong willingness to learn and grow. Outside of work, she enjoys art, hockey, mountain biking, gaming, and spending time outdoors with family.
