Samantha Maaka

Samantha is 24 years old, originally from the North Island. Sam started  working at Fortune Fruit in Cromwell seasonally since the age of 12 and went from packhouse to sprayer up until April of 2025 then she went overseas and started at central orchard management in September of 2025 as a machine/spray operator. She holds a phytosanitary certificate, growsafe and Horticulture fruit production certificate. As well as first aid and a wilderness first responder certification. She is a hard worker and willing to learn. Her employer has seen the potential in her and has encouraged her to grow more and take on supervision roles when necessary. Sam enjoys art and loves the outdoors, she plays hockey, mountain bikes, video games and the occasional hunt with her dad.
