The Nelson Young Grower of the Year competition will be held on Friday, 19 June 2026.

Tickets for the Evening Event

Ticket includes: drinks and canapés on arrival, plus dinner and drinks during the evening.

Pricing: $95 per person, or $950 for a table of 10.

Dietary requirements: When you RSVP, please advise any dietary requirements. If you have already purchased tickets, please email through dietary requirements for all attendees.

Evening Event Details

· Venue: Rutherford Hotel, Nelson

· Address: 27 Nile Street West, Nelson 7010

· Arrival: 6:00pm (canapés and drinks in the foyer)

· Seated event: approximately 6:45pm

· Finish: approximately 9:30–10:00pm

Day Competition Details

· Venue: Thomas Brothers ‘Stevens’ Orchard

· Address: 311 Main Road, Riwaka

· Start time: 8:30am (first module)

· Finish time: approximately 3:00pm

Lunch: 12:15pm — free Fruitfed Supplies BBQ (all welcome). Bring your team along, take a break from pruning, and watch Horti Sports.

Nominations Open: Nick Patterson “Services to Horticulture” Award

Nominations are now open. If you have someone in mind to receive the award this year, please submit your nomination for consideration.

The award recognises those who have supported and contributed to the Nelson horticulture industry over the span of their career. The recipient will receive a $1,000 travel voucher.

· Please include a few paragraphs about your nominee, their career, and why you believe they are deserving of the award.

· You (or someone close to your nominee) may be asked to present the award on the night of the Nelson Young Grower competition.
