The 2025 Bay of Plenty Young Grower of the Year competition will be held on Friday, 27 June 2025.

The 2025 Bay of Plenty Young Grower competition aims to inspire and acknowledge the talents of young people employed in the fruit and vegetable sectors in the Bay of Plenty. We have some of the best fruit and vegetables in the country so it goes without saying that there are also a number of very talented young fruit and vegetable growers in the region. The competitors will arrive bright and early on the morning of the competition and progress through the different challenges which occur until early afternoon, then will have time to prepare for the gala dinner where they will participate in a speech competition in front of around 400 esteemed guests.

Apply to be a contestant in 2025

The winner of the 2025 competition will go home with $1,500 and will represent the Bay of Plenty at the National Young Grower of the Year competition.

The second place will receive $1,000 and the third place will receive $750.

All competitors will receive a prize box and will have the opportunity to compete for the $2,500+GST Upskilling Scholarship as well as the $750 speech competition prize.

Each competitor will also have the opportunity to take advantage of free a public speaking course.
