Jared Loewen

After moving from Canada in 2021, Jared began his New Zealand horticulture journey on a small stone fruit orchard in Central Otago. In 2023, he joined Darlings Fruit as a Fruit Production Assistant and assists as a Documentation Officer during apple harvest. With a background in business studies, Jared is passionate about the analysis and numbers side of fruit growing. He is currently redeveloping his family’s orchard, Stone House Gardens, to improve productivity and sustainability. Jared is entering the competition to build connections and expand his skills. Outside of work, he enjoys ice hockey, baseball, guitar, and time with family.
